The last Hurrah, if you will, of the Godfrey/Stewart-era - this live album was recorded at the Dominion Theatre, London, over two nights in November 1988, in support of the Seed and the Sower album. Final Noise focusses largely on their 80's output (with only Aerie Farie's Childe Roland and Six Piece's Hall of Mirrors represented from the Lickerish era). Though Stewart continued engineering various sessions at The Lodge studio for the next couple of years, he would never again collaborate or perform with the Enid. Godfrey experimented with new ideas (the ill-fated 'Enid' and Come September projects of the early 90's). “Silly idea really – but sometimes it takes a silly idea to find the sense in a thing,” said RJG many years later.
